  • Open to all St. Louis Jewish teens in grades 8th-12th
  • Choose one or two of our amazing courses
  • Three 8-week trimesters on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Dinner Option from 6-6:30 p.m. for busy teens coming from another activity or who want to arrive early and socialize
  • Participate for one, two, or all three trimesters

Permissions and Authorizations

Your registration grants CAJE permission to:
  • use photos or videos of your teen's JOLT activites for presentation to the community (e.g., Jewish Light, JewishinStlouis and CAJE websites.

  • authorize medical care if your child becomes acuately ill or requires emergency care.

with Bob Cohn, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus, St. Louis Jewish Light
News is coming at us constantly in many forms. What is reliable and what is not? Join us as we use a Jewish lens to analyze current events. Learn how to seek out a balance of news stories and how articles reflect the politics of the writers.

TEXTING WITH RABBIS
with Rabbi throughout our Community
Meet and learn with a variety of Community and Congregational Rabbis as they share their passion for classic text from our traditions.

WIZARDRY OF JUDAISM
with Andy Schwebel, Director of Experiential Education, B’nai Amoona
Expecto partronum? What does this mean? Explore the magical connection of the Harry Potter series to Judaism. Understand the ethics, morals and symbolism.

TRIMESTER 3 - SECOND HOUR COURSES

SNAP, CRACKLE, POP
with Brad "Chots" Chotiner, Day Camp Director, JCC
A look at Pop Culture through a Jewish lens that impacts teens today. Modalities will include social media, movies, television, music, and radio.

IUNDERSTANDING THE HOLOCAUST THROUGH FILM
with Andy Schwebel, Director of Experiential Education, B’nai Amoona
You will have the unique opportunity to view and discuss rare and inspirational stories of survival during the Holocaust.

STRONG TEENS; STRONGER RELATIONSHIPS
with Nava Kantor
This co-ed and interactive class will explore empowerment and self-esteen in healthy relationships.

ATTENTANCE
Regular attendance is required. Eight week trimester and action-packed curriculum requaired students to arrive on time and return to class on time after the break.  Students are to remain on the premises at all times.

CHANGING CLASSES
Students may transfer classes with the approval of the JOLT Director.

EMERGENCY/WEATHER RELATED CLOSINGS
In the event of snow or other extreme weather conditions, JOLT will follow the procedure of the
Parkway School District. If Parkway schools are closed, JOLT will be closed. A decision about weather related closing will be made by 2 p.m.

DRIVING
Students who drive to JOLT are expected to drive directly to B’nai Amoona and remain there until the end of the evening at 8:30 p.m. The JOLT faculty does not patrol the roadways or the parking lot. We rely on trust and communication between students, parents and faculty for the successful implementation of this policy. Students are expected to use common sense, obey the law and maintain the trust given them by their parents and the faculty.

GUESTS
Guests of students are permitted to attend a class, subject to prior approval of the JOLT Director.

TUITION (per trimester) $140
Check with your synagogue to see if tuition is covered by the synagogue.

DINNER OPTION(per trimester): $55

SUPPLY FEE
Some Classes require text book, food or other supplies. These classes require a $20 Supply Fee
.

Credit Card Payments will be accepted for full payment, due at registration. MasterCard and Visa Only!
